Unit 10, Week 3 (long e: e_e,  _e)

Pat is a cat. Pat is a brave cat. He had a big red cape. "I am a brave cat!" said Pat. He can go on a big trip.

Pat went to a lake. A grebe is at the lake. "Can we be mates?" said Pat. "Yes!" said the grebe. Pat and the grebe sat on a mat. The grebe ate a fig. Pat ate ham.

The sun fades. It is time to go home. "We had fun," said Pat. The grebe gave Pat a grin.

He had a big red cape. "I am a brave cat!" said Pete.

He can go on a big trip. Pete went to a lake.

A grebe is at the lake. "Can we be mates?" said Pete.

Pete and the grebe sat on a mat. The grebe ate a fig.

It is time to go home. "We had fun," said Pete.

The grebe gave Pete a smile, and Pete ran home.
