- Only use 1 syllable words in the story except for custom words, character, setting, and character name.
- The story should have an interesting plot with a sequence of clearly connected events (do not end the story with "the end")

Unit 1, Lesson 17 (ge, ve)

- Only use 1 syllable words in the story except for skill words, custom words, character, setting, and character name.
- Use dialogue when possible
- Vary sentence patterns (simple, compound, and complex)
- Use connecting words and subordinating conjunctions (while, when, as, until, etc.)
- Use the following story structure: 1-2. Introduce character and set the scene, 3-5. Introduce the problem. 6-7. Provide a bit of detail. 8-10. Solve the problem. 11-12. Wrap things up.

Unit 5, Lessons 14-15 (v, ve /v/)

CKLA (1st)

Cliff the polar bear was in his igloo. He had lots of tasks to do. "I have to give a gift to Dan," he said. The gift was a massive, festive plant. He went to lift the plant, but he felt a twinge in his back. "Oof!" he wept. This was a setback. He had to solve this! He sat down to rest. Then he had a strong instinct. He set the pot on a rug and went to drag it. It was a thrill to see it pass from the igloo.

It was twelve o'clock, and Cliff was in his den resting.

He had a lot to do. He had to get up and be active.

"I have to give a gift to Dan," Cliff said.

He went to lift the plant, but he felt a twinge in his back.

Cliff set the plant on top of a fringe rug. 

Then he slid the plant on the rug to bring it to Dan.

Dan felt glad to get such a festive gift!
