Chen is a ghost. Chen is not a sad ghost. He is a glad ghost. Chen has a pal, a duck. The duck quacks. Chen and the duck walk in the neighborhood. They see a big brunch on a bench. "Yuck!" says the duck. "That is not our brunch!" A cat sits on the bench. "This is my brunch," says the cat. "Do you want a snack?" Chen and the duck munch on snacks with the cat. "This is a good brunch!" says Chen. They all chat and munch.

On a late Fall night, Ash sat at home in his shack and ate a snack.

"What was that?" Ash said as he felt his hands shake.

Ash rose and went to gaze at the glass pane, but all he could see was black.

"Must be a stick on the gate," he said with a shrug.

Ash went pale! "Nope! That is not a stick!" he said in a daze.

Brave Ash got on his socks and went to the door. The walk was just nine steps, but it felt like a mile. 

Ash gave the lock a quick twist. He let the door gape just a crack so he could take a look.

"Trick or treat!" the cute kids said with their full sacks.
