Lane came to school. She had a big pale cake. "This cake is for the bake sale!" Lane said. The cake had a grape on top. Lane put the cake on a plate.

Then, Zane ran past. He did not see the cake! Zane gave the plate a push. The cake fell to the floor. "Oh, no!" Lane cried. The cake was a flat mess.

Lane felt sad. Zane felt bad. "I will fix it," Zane said. He went to get a spade. Zane used the spade to scrape the cake. He put the cake bits on a new plate. "Now it is a flat cake!" Zane said. Lane and Zane gave a big laugh. The sale had a flat cake.

Lane came to class. She had a big pink cake.

"This cake is for the bake sale!" Lane said.

Then, Jake came in. He did not see the cake!

Jake hit the desk and the cake fell with a plop!

The cake was a flat mess and it had lost its pink glaze. 

Lane was sad, but she did not want to blame Jake. 

Jake had made a cake too. His cake had a red glaze on it.

Jake got the red glaze from his cake and gave it to Lane. 

Then, Lane went to frost the flat cake with red glaze. 

At last, Lane had a red cake to take to the bake sale!
