Max the rat was in a funk. He sat on a stump in the damp swamp. "I want to sing a thing," said Max. But Max had a cold. His lung felt glum.

Max went to see the king. The king was a kind skunk. "I want to sing, but I am sick," said Max. The king had a plan. He had a gold lamp. He gave it a tap. A pink thing sprung from the lamp! "I am a good witch," it said. "I can help you."

The witch gave Max a drink. It did not stink. Max drank it all. He felt a zing! He could sing! "Thank you!" said Max. He and the king sung a song for the witch. It was the best thing.
