- Use the following story structure: 1-2. Introduce character and set the scene, 3-5. Introduce the problem. 6-7. Provide a bit of detail. 8-10. Solve the problem. 11-12. Wrap things up.

Roscoe the toad sat by the moat.  He had a boat and a coat.  "I wish I had a float,"  Roscoe croaked. He spied a blue pie on the road.  "Whoa!" said Roscoe.  He grabbed the pie and the boat.  When he got to the moat, he put the pie in the boat.  The boat did float!  Roscoe had a pie float.


He has to get a fruit pie to his pal, Joe, on the other side of the moat.

Roscoe spies a blue flag on the road and picks it up.

Roscoe gets a string and ties the flag to the cup. Then, he sets it in the moat.

"I made a boat!" cries Roscoe. The boat floats. 

Roscoe hops on the boat with his fruit pie.

Roscoe hops off the boat and grabs his pie. Then, he hops the rest of the way to bring the pie to Joe!
