- Use the following story structure: 1-2. Introduce character and set the scene, 3-5. Introduce the problem. 6-7. Provide a bit of detail. 8-10. Solve the problem. 11-12. Wrap things up.

Rain lashed the train.  Zain the train wailed. "I fail!  I will not gain speed in this rain!"  He strained and strained, but the rain just drained his power.  He saw a snail on the rail.  "Can you aid me?" Zain asked. The snail said, "Wait. I have an aim." The snail nailed a small sail to Zain.  The wind filled the sail, and Zain gained speed. "You did not fail!" said the snail. "You sailed!"  Zain trailed the snail and thanked him.


Zain the train was out on a run. He went fast on the rail.

When he got to a cave, Zain sat to wait for his pal Craig. 

Since Craig was a snail, Zain would have to wait a long time for him to get there.

At the edge of the cave, Zain felt a drop of rain. He blinked as rain hit his face.

 "I must aid Craig in this rain" said Zain. He got back on the trail to look for Craig.

Zain strained in the rain, but he kept on puffing.

Then, he heard a wail. It was Craig! He was calling for help. 

Zain sped up to get to Craig. Craig laid on the track in pain. He was stuck to the wet rail. 

Zain got a chain and tossed it to Craig. Craig held on as Zain sped up.

Thanks to Zain, Craig was safe! He got on top of Zain to ride back to the cave.
