One day, Betsy saw a white puppy. The puppy looked quite sad. Betsy felt sad for him.

Betsy had a secret. She had a shiny, golden scale that she kept hidden.

So, Betsy let the puppy see her shiny scale.

The puppy gave Betsy a smile, but he still looked a bit sad.

"Why are you crying?" asked Betsy.

"I can't find my mom!" said the puppy.

"I can help!" said Betsy. With her big wings, Betsy went up to the sky.

Betsy was looking for the puppy's mom in the sky.

From up in the sky, she could see a dog that looked just like the puppy.

"There!" yelled Betsy.

She landed softly next to the puppy's mom. "Your puppy is right by my den!" said Betsy.

Betsy held on to the puppy's mom as she zipped across the sky.

The mommy was so happy to see her puppy safe.

Betsy felt happy too. She had helped a puppy in need.

All of the dogs clapped for Betsy.

From that day on, Betsy was not just a kind dragon but a hero.
