Betsy the bison stood on the hill. The sun shone.  A soft breeze blew. Betsy looked at the grass. It looked so green. "I love to roll," she said. Betsy ran. She went fast. She rolled down the hill.  She went so fast!  The world went by in a blur.  Betsy giggled.  She spun and spun.  She got a little dizzy.  She was so dizzy she wobbled.  She stumbled.  She fell.  Betsy sat up.  She had grass on her nose. "Oops," Betsy said.  She looked up at the hill.  "I want to go do that once more!"


Betsy the dragon was not like other dragons. She was very kind and a friend to all dogs.

One day, Betsy saw a white puppy. The puppy looked quite sad. Betsy felt sad for him.

Betsy had a secret. She had a shiny, golden scale that she kept hidden.

So, Betsy let the puppy see her shiny scale.

The puppy gave Betsy a smile, but he still looked a bit sad.

"I can help!" said Betsy. With her big wings, Betsy went up to the sky.

Betsy was looking for the puppy's mom in the sky.

"From up in the sky, she could see a dog that looked just like the puppy."

She landed softly next to the puppy's mom. "Your puppy is right by my den!" said Betsy.

Betsy held on to the puppy's mom as she zipped across the sky.

The mommy was so happy to see her puppy safe. 

Betsy felt happy too. She had helped a puppy in need.


From that day on, Betsy was not just a kind dragon but a hero.
