The Huge Gem

Sage had a spade to dig in the sand. She dug and dug.

Sage gasped. There was huge gem in the sand! The gem shone like the sun.

Sage picked up the gem and brushed the sand from it.

She held the gem out to Gene.

"What is the age of this gem?" asked Gene. "I bet it is quite old!" said Sage.

"You must sell this gem," said Gene. "I bet it costs as much as the whole wage at my job!"

Sage was mad. Her face filled with rage. She did not wish to sell the gem.

"If I sell this gem, it will end up in a glass cage in a shop," said Sage.

"If you do not sell it, what will you do with it?" asked Gene.

"I have a big plan!" said Sage. "This gem will be safe with me."

Sage kept the gem. She had it made into a huge ring.

Sage was so glad the gem was not stuck in a shop. She wore her ring with pride.
