- Implement "show, not tell" descriptive techniques, incorporating sensory details (how things feel, sound, look, etc.)
- Use dialogue
- There should be a clear problem and solution

Patrick the pig sat by the sand.  He held a small, pink napkin.  "I do not want a hotdog," Patrick said.  He did not relish the fact. Gavin the wombat came by. "Why?" Gavin said.  "Do you distrust the hotdog?"  "Yes," Patrick said.  "A bedbug was on it!"  Gavin did a small zigzag. "A bedbug!" he said.  He felt quite upset.  "I will inspect it," Gavin said.  Gavin held the hotdog. He did not see a bedbug. "I see no bedbug," Gavin said. "It is intact."  Patrick and Gavin sat by the sand. They held the hotdog.  "I will help you," Gavin said.  Patrick and Gavin ate the hotdog.


Patrick the pig sat by the sand. He held a small, pink napkin.
