- Use the following story structure: 1-2. Introduce character and set the scene, 3-5. Introduce the problem. 6-7. Provide a bit of detail. 8-10. Solve the problem. 11-12. Wrap things up.

Nemo the armadillo sat in his hole.  He had a radio. Nunzio and Mario came by. “We have a contest at the studio,” said Nunzio.  “The trio with the sweetest fruit wins.” Nemo was hesitant. He did not want to leave his hole.  But the contest reminds him of fresh fruit. He loves to nibble fruit.  “I will go with you,” Nemo said.  He grabbed his radio.  At the studio, Patricio, Fiona, and Eugenio had big plates of fruits.  Nemo saw the black fruits.  They looked like buds on a plant.  He sniffed the buds. They smelled so sweet! Nemo and his friends placed their fruit on a plate. The judges sniffed and nibbled.  “Nemo, Nunzio, and Mario,” said Joe, “your fruit is the sweetest!” Nemo smiled. He took the big, silver trophy back to his hole.  Now he can listen to his radio and munch on sweet fruit.
