It was noon, and Jon sat next to the brook.

The sun was up, but it felt cool.

There was a big fish.

"Look at that fish!" Jon said.

He stood up to get a close look.

Dad took the pole and set it in the brook.

Then, the pole shook. The fish bit the hook.

The fish gave a spin and did a big loop.

Vroom! It swam fast in the brook.

Some water got on Dad's boots.

But Dad held on to the fish and the pole.

Jon stood back with a smile.

Dad gave one big pull and got the fish.

Dad said, "Woo! That was a fast one."

Then, Dad took the hook off of the fish.

"What a catch!" Jon said with a smile.
