Jay the quail liked to play in the sunny plains. One day, as he was laying on soft hay, he felt a bad pain in his wing. "I think it is a sprain!" Jay said.

"I cannot fly!" Jay scanned the plains, hoping to spot a friend to help. His friend, Fay the snail, came by.

"Jay, why so gray?" Fay asked. "I hurt my wing," Jay told her.

Fay started to think. "I know a way!" she said.

Fay called Ray the bird for aid. Ray landed and sat next to Jay. "I can help," Ray claimed. "Great!" said Jay.

Ray put clay and a soft cloth on the hurt wing. "Stay still, Jay," Ray said. Jay stayed put.

After some time, Jay felt better. "Thank you, friend," Jay said. "Now I can play again!"

With faith in his friend, Jay was back to flying and playing.
