Dexter is a lizard. He lives on the rocks. He loves to see the world. "Look, a bird!" he says. The bird chirps a sweet song. Dexter flicks his tail. "I want to fly," he thinks. 

The sun is hot. Dexter finds a cool spot. He rests on a big rock. "This is my spot," he says. The rocks are his home. 

Dexter sees a bug. He darts to catch it. "Yum," he says. He is a quick hunter. 

The sky turns red. Night is near. Dexter finds a nook to sleep. "Good night," he says. He snuggles in the rocks. 

Dexter dreams of far lands. He will explore more soon. For now, he sleeps safe and sound.

Carter is a farmer. She works on a farm with her dog Buster.

Carter gathers crops on the farm as the sun burns in the sky.

As fall comes closer, Carter knows she must harvest the corn.

""Buster, get the canisters from the barn," she says. "We have hard work to do.""

Buster runs off. Carter begins harvesting the corn. Her arms hurt, but she keeps working.

Buster returns with the canisters. "The herd is by the river. They are getting closer to the crop," she says. "We must work faster."




After harvesting the corn, Carter covers the canisters. "Time for supper!" she yells to Buster. After their hard work, Carter and Buster have dinner.

They rest and think about the fall harvest. "Good job, Buster" Carter says.
