He was so excited that he had trouble sleeping the night before. When morning came, he hopped out of bed, got dressed quickly, and went to the kitchen.

"Are we ready to go?" Marcus asked, hopping from foot to foot.

"Almost, but first we need to eat breakfast," his mom said. She was stirring a big pot of oatmeal.

After eating, they headed to the fairgrounds. The moment they arrived, Marcus was stunned by the sights and sounds. There were bright balloons, cheerful music, and the smell of yummy food in the air.

"Let's start with the rides!" Marcus shouted. He looked all around, plotting how they would spend their day.

Then he saw it. The biggest rollercoaster in the park. His jaw dropped as he said, "I want to ride that one!"

"Are you sure, Marcus? That's a pretty big rollercoaster," his mom said. "Yes! Please," Marcus begged. "Okay, Marcus," his mom said, smiling. So Marcus and his mom jogged to the line.

Marcus's heart began to beat faster and faster as he got closer. It felt like his heart was skipping a beat. "I'm feeling a little scared," he shared.

"It's okay to be scared," his mom said. "I am right here." They climbed into the first car of the rollercoaster and strapped in. Marcus gripped the handle bar and held his mom's hand tight.

The rollercoaster car chugged up the tracks. At first it was moving slowly. Then, it went quickly down the tracks.

Marcus gripped the handle bar harder. "Ahhh!" he yelled. The rollercoaster went up and down the tracks again. "Woo hoo!" he shouted.

After a few minutes, the rollercoaster came to a stop, and the ride was over. "Let's do that again!" he yelled, while clapping his hands.

"Maybe in a little bit," his mom smiled. He hugged and thanked his mom for going on the biggest rollercoaster ride.

Marcus and his mom spent the rest of the day playing games, winning prizes, petting the animals, and eating yummy food.

"That was the best day ever," Marcus said as they walked to the car.
