Lux was a planner and planned a race for all the animals.

He mapped out a trail stretching from the dunes to the big old tree.

The hot sun was getting hotter, and the animals could hardly wait.

The day of the race came and Lux began to feel sad.

His best friend, Sammy an elephant, could not join because she was sick. Sammy felt sad and bitter about not being able to run in the race.

Lux was more of a planner and not a runner. Since his friend could not run, he clapped his paws together and chose to run the race for both of them.

He hopped to the starting line, ready to run.

As the race began, Lux was running at top speed.

Despite the heat getting hotter, Lux pushed on.

He reached the old tree and was the first one there.

Lux was the biggest hyena and now was faster than any of the other animals in the race.

The elephant who watched the race from afar, smiled with pride at Lux.

Lux, was sleepy but happy and plopped down beside his friend.

He had won the race and made his friend proud.

Despite being the biggest hyena, Lux realized that he could also be the fastest.
