Avery was not like any other dragon. She was kind and gentle.

She had a shiny, golden scale that she kept hidden.

One day, a puppy saw her shiny scale. Avery let the puppy look at her scale.

But then the puppy was crying, and Avery felt sad for him.

'Why are you crying?' asked Avery.

The puppy told Avery that he was lost.

'I can help!' said Avery. With her big wings, Avery took off.

Avery was looking for the puppy's mom from the sky.

'There!' yelled Avery.

From up in the sky, she could see a dog that looked just like the puppy.

She gently landed in front of the puppy's mom.

The mom was so happy to see her son safe.

All of the dogs in the city clapped for Avery.

From that day on, Avery was not just a dragon, but a hero.

She showed everyone that dragons could be kind and helpful too.
